Everyone’s sense of style is obviously unique in it’s own way, but I think I’ve finally nailed down my outfit essentials. Have you ever looked at someone, and solely based on their outfit are thinking, “wow this person has it together?" That’s basically my everyday goal. It used to seem so difficult to achieve that level of put-togetherness, but I’ve simplified it down into a few easy essentials.
I’m not going to overcomplicate this, so basically, get a jacket. Layering really adds dimension to your look and it’s a good way to add fun textures. Also, get some sort of bag. By no means does this needs to be a designer bag. I actually just started investing in designer bags (thank you year-end bonus), but before that I was styling bags mainly from ASOS and the leather markets in Florence. Obviously I’m going to compare this to food, but styling a good handbag with your look is like the icing on top of a donut. Adding more visual elements to your look really elevates the level of style. If you don’t believe me, go on Instagram and see how many fashion bloggers always have a handbag included in their looks. Lastly, only buy things that fit you well. Wearing the right size for your body is the ultimate key to looking better in the clothes. For the longest time, I was always too lazy to return things that didn’t fit me right, and just wore them instead. I couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t looking as put together or polished as I’d like. THIS WAS WHY. It’s well worth it to put the time and money into finding clothes that fit your shape. It makes all the difference in the end.
